This is the Pathéscope version of the Hal Roach production “It’s a gift” starring Snub Pollard.
This short film was published in the 1930’s on a 30ft Pathéscope reel with the (alternative) title “getting his Man”. It is an excerpt of an unknown drama film showing a Mountie catching the bad guy with incredible stunt action.
This is a video that I digitalised from a 300ft Pathéscope reel.
It is a film about the raid on Zeebrugge in 1918
The film recreates this event in a mixture of authentic WW I material including captured German film,drama and special effects using models.
This film is an episode from an series of dramatized war docu’s that was produced by a company called British Instructional Film .
The original title was “Zeebrugge” and it was first released in 1924
The Wrecker is a British film that tells the story of a crook who organises train crashes to discredit the railway, in favour of a rival bus company. The stunts in this film were groundbreaking for 1920s British cinema A scene wich has been discribed as “the most spectacular rail
crash in cinema history” was recorded by 22 cameras.
Once thought lost, this rediscovered film has been
restored and newly released in 2009, 80 years after its premiere. It was not seen for seventy years.
